INCI NAME :- INDIGOFERA TINCTORIA EXTRACT

Features

Indigo powder is obtained from the ground leaves of the indigo plant and has a very strong smell that is reminiscent of fresh peas. Once a paste is formed, the consistency has a dark green shade that slowly transforms into a blue colour. The more time the paste is given to oxidize, the darker it becomes - it may appear navy blue to black.

Indigo gives the hair increased volume, shine and texture when used as a hair dye. It is ideal for covering grey hair, improves hair manageability, and supplies hydration and protection. Indigo is often used to dye fabrics and can be used as a colour additive for soaps or other skincare products.

Application: When indigo is mixed with henna, the paste has a medium to dark brown shade. A rich black colour is obtained when using indigo to dye hair that has been coloured using henna. When used as a dye on its own, the colour result is dark blue. Read the accompanying instructions carefully before applying the product to your hair. Avoid contact with your eyes and mouth and do not use on damaged skin. Always perform a strand and allergy test before using the product.

Additional Information

Indigo powder has many uses in cosmetics, including hair dye, skin care, and soap making:

  • Hair dye: Indigo powder has been used for centuries as a natural hair dye to reverse premature graying and give hair a natural black color. It can also be used to prevent hair loss, eliminate dandruff, and promote hair quality. Indigo powder can be mixed with coconut oil to combat hair loss, or applied after henna to create a variety of shades, such as brown, cherry, mahogany, and black.

  • Skin care: Indigo powder can be used in facial products to even out skin tones, combat hyperpigmentation and dark spots, and make wrinkles less visible. It can also be used in anti-aging recipes to help reduce the signs of aging.

  • Soap making: Indigo powder can be used in soap making.
